Blooms and Blossoms

It is a good year for Dame’s Rocket.  We are seeing it everywhere.  It seems to thrive in roadside ditches and the woods.  I love the variety of colors, from white to pink to deep purple.

IMG_2768Black Locust blossoms are so pretty and fragrant, it is a shame most of them are far to high to photograph.  I was lucky enough to find some on a low-hanging branch the other day.

IMG_2793_1There are a couple of Tuliptrees next to the road in the Park.  I have walked and driven by them for years, thinking they were Maple Trees, until I happened to notice the blossoms a couple of years ago.  They are actually Yellow Poplars, but get their common name from the tulip-like blossoms.

Lots of Clover around now too. This purple one made a nice subject for the Macro lens.

  2. I love Dame’s Rocket! It’s so colorful. I had it growing in the garden once. I can’t remember how it got there but I saved the seeds and tried them again the following year without any success.
