Frozen Trees

We have had a mixed bag of weather so far this Winter, with sudden shifts from mild to freezing and back again, but now we are truly in the Deep Freeze and it looks as if we will stay there at least through Sunday.Icy Pine

Last week we began with snow, changing to rain and freezing rain, then back to snow, and now we are experiencing single digit temperatures accompanied by biting winds. We are expecting wind chills of -20F tomorrow. Roads are treacherous, as it is too cold for salt to work.IMG_2456 Β

I try to limit my time outside as much as possible, but with a dog to walk and horses to care for, I have to brave the elements several times a day.  Just getting ready to go outside is an ordeal as I struggle into several layers of clothing and hunt up my warmest hats, scarves and gloves. Every outside chore seems ten times harder when it is this cold! 😦

On the brighter side, we have been blessed with a few days of sunshine, which helps to warm our south-facing living room, and helps inspire me to bring out the camera again. πŸ™‚

    • Sunshine does help to raise our spirits, even if there is not much warmth in it at the moment! πŸ™‚
