OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOur unusually wet Summer made for a fine crop of fungi.  I ran across some very attractive specimens at the Nature Conservancy a few weeks ago.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe weather has been so gloomy lately, it has been hard to take good Fall photos, but the sun made a brief appearance on one of our morning walks, lighting up these Maples beautifully.  Almost all the leaves are gone now and we have already had a couple of falls of snow.  Nothing measurable, but enough to stick to the ground for a while.

Our temperatures have been running a good ten degrees below normal for the time of year, and next week it will be even colder.  Looks like it will be another long, hard Winter.

We changed our clocks back to Standard time last week, and my internal clock hasn’t quite caught up yet.  I am waking at an ungodly hour of the morning, and am ready to crawl into bed before nine o’clock!  Must be a sign of Old Age!

  1. We are off to a colder than normal start, which is not a good sign! 😦

  2. I am hoping that the winter will not be too hard – but it does seem as if Mother Nature has a different idea.
