Snowed In – Again!

Tufted TitmouseA combination of light snow and high winds have drifted our driveway in again, so we are house-bound until we are plowed out.  Just as well, as our area is once again under Wind Chill Warnings.

Sadly, in spite of all the earnest warnings, my horses expect to be fed and cared for and Abbie expects to be walked, so I must bundle up and venture out several times a day, but I am keeping these outings as short as possible.

Our backyard birds continue to keep us entertained, and it’s good to see some signs of life in this frozen landscape.Downy Woodpecker The Red Bellied Woodpecker has become a regular visitor along with male and female Downies.Red-bellied Woodpecker Looks like I will soon have to make some more Suet Cake for them.

  2. Your birds and horses are lucky. Homemade suet, yum.

    • I can make the homemade suet cakes larger, so they last longer. Don’t want to step outside any more often than necessary these days! 🙂
