Yesterday’s rain turned to snow in the afternoon. Temperatures dipped from the forties to the twenties overnight, so the snow was still there when we got up this morning. The forecast is for sunshine today, but not much rise in temperatures and another night in the twenties. Still not ‘officially’ Winter, but it certainly feels like it!
We have just returned from a visit to Ontario to visit our daughter and family, and to attend The Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. ‘The Royal’ is a State Fair on a grand scale, offering city dwellers a rare opportunity to see every kind of farm animal imaginable as well as demonstrations and a dizzying array of vendors. A full week of competitions culminates in the Royal Horse Show, which offers a rare opportunity to see world-class show jumpers in action.
For many years now, we have made it a family tradition to attend this show with our daughter and it has become one of the highlights of our year and a great start to the Holiday Season.
Our daughter is fortunate enough to live just steps from Lake Ontario, and the lake offered some wonderful photo ops this trip. Wind had whipped up the waves, and I had fun trying to capture them. I will post more photos later.
