Oh! Lovely May
After the long, drab and virtually colorless days of late Winter and early Spring, nature seems to have taken pity on us, and everywhere we look there is color. Grass, trees and newly planted crops offer many different shades of green, and there is a super abundance of blossoms in white and pink and purple.
Lilacs seem to be doing particularly well this year and offer a wonderful show in many different colors and their scent fills the air.
Last year, after an unseasonably warm March, we had two weeks of freezing temperatures, which pretty well destroyed the Apple and Cherry blossoms, but now they seem to be making up for the loss and are just breathtaking!
