Sunday Surprise

Snowy Woods

We were quite shocked to wake up Sunday morning to find about an inch of snow on the ground.  We had been busy with out-of-town visitors and a sick cat, so perhaps this was forecast, but I don’t think so.

I was quite put out, but my granddaughters who were visiting for the weekend were thrilled to bits!  We all bundled up, and took Abbie and Willow, the Greyhound on a long walk through the woods.  Guess it comes under the heading of making lemonade if life hands you lemons!

Of course, it’s not unusual for us to have some measurable snow this late in November, but since we were basking in sunshine and 70 degree temperatures on Thursday, it came as quite a surprise.  Michigan is known for its changeable weather, but we really seem to be going from the sublime to the ridiculous this year.

Having our daughter and granddaughters here for the Thanksgiving weekend, was a rare treat.  They live in Canada, where Thanksgiving is celebrated in October and work and school schedules usually make it impossible for them to come here in November.  This year they managed it, and we had a wonderful time.

  2. How lovely! That does sound like extreme weather though: 70 degrees one day and snow the next?!
