Had to take a few days off from the blog as our daughter and granddaughters were visiting, along with Willow the Greyhound. The granddaughters pretty well take over my computer while they are here. They know how to get into websites where they can play age-appropriate games and print up pictures to color. They are already more tech savvy than I will ever be!
They left on Friday morning, and now I am trying to catch up on housework and laundry. With impeccable timing, Abbie managed to get herself ‘skunked’ on our walk last night. Thank heaven for Google, where I quickly found a ‘deskunking’ recipe consisting of liquid soap, Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda. I am also grateful that is was warm enough to conduct the procedure on the deck rather than in the bathtub!
We finally have some relief from the drought. Storms rolled in on Wednesday night and brought us 2 inches of rain, and we have had another 1/2 inch since then. Our lawn is slowly coming back to life and my flowers are perking up a little. A cooling trend followed the storm and we are pleased to be able to open up the windows again and shut off the AC for a few days.
