A Useful Tip

A fellow blogger suggested using a telephoto lens to photograph butterflies.   They are less apt to spook and fly away if we can keep our distance.  I was able to put this into practice the other day, and am very pleased with the results.

During this stretch of hot dry days, it has been difficult to keep my garden fountain clean and filled.  Within minutes, visiting Robins can just about empty it, leaving the pump clogged with feathers.  Sometimes I am refilling it up to three times a day!  I can’t begrudge them though.  We all have to do what we can to stay cool these days!

  1. Beautiful shots! The red stones really set off that pretty butterfly beautifully!

    • Thanks. I was fortunate he stuck around long enough for me to get several shots.
