Oh, Lovely May

The weather has really been smiling on us for the last few days.  Lots of sunshine and milder nights.  I may even dare to plant some annuals.  Our area is not considered safely frost-free until after Memorial Day, but the forecast looks very promising.  Since all my planting is done in containers, they can always be moved if we get a late frost.

Dame’s Rocket is in bloom everywhere.  Apparently this is yet another non-native plant, but it is very attractive and brightens up the ditches along our road.

The geese in the Park have babies, and seem a little put out with us when we walk by.  The swans are still here, but no sign of babies for them.

I have dared to put away the ugly hats and scarves of winter, and keep a lighter jacket by the door for our morning walks.  This morning I did not even need that.  I do love May!

  1. Thanks. Great to hear from you! (Don’t feel bad – I get to be jealous of your weather in a few months.)
